My name is Elizabeth Beck. I am originally from the great state of Georgia, but am currently living in Anchorage, Alaska with my middle school sweetheart husband, Chris and our goofy golden retriever, Buddy. I enjoy the great outdoors, a good book and am a sucker for ice cream and coffee at any time of day.
In 2013, I opened an Etsy shop selling pin back buttons soon after my husband and I got married. Since then, my shop has evolved and expanded and now, my products can best be described as small details for happy occasions. With hard work and success, I became a full time Etsy shop owner in January 2016. While the success of my shop had a lot to do with hard work, my husband and I had the feeling there was more to it than that.
In February 2016, the idea of adoption was placed on our hearts. The thought was first posed by my husband Chris while he was in Louisiana for work. Chris had recently listened to a Francis Chan podcast about adoption and discussed it with me on the phone. We were immediately on board to expand our family in this way. We also felt that God had blessed me with the opportunity to help fund the adoption through my Etsy shop. We filled out an application and began the process for international adoption from Peru as soon as Chris was home a few weeks later.
Moving forward in the process, we plan to be as transparent as possible and will do our best to keep everyone in the loop. The adoption process is tough and looks different for everyone, but we feel joy knowing that a child in Peru will become a Beck.
